Open the bot

Forward the round video note
In the chat with the video note, long-press it → Forward → choose @MakeVideoNoteBot. Your own and other people's video notes both work.
Tap “Regular video”
The bot asks What should I do? and offers 🎬 Regular video and 🎵 MP3. Tap 🎬 Regular video.
Save the video
The bot replies with a regular video. Open it and save it to your gallery from the video's menu, or forward it to any chat.

Why the video is square
A round video note is a square video that Telegram shows as a circle. The bot keeps the full square picture, so nothing at the edges is cut off when you save it.
