# Voice messages to text without Telegram Premium: the options compared

Without Telegram Premium you can still turn voice messages into text in three ways: use the limited number of free trial transcriptions Telegram gives each week, transcribe in a supergroup boosted enough to unlock it for all members, or forward the recording to a bot such as @TranscribeVoiceBot (30 minutes a day free). If you already pay for Premium, the built-in transcription has no limit and you don't need a bot.

## Which one to choose

- **Telegram Premium** — if you already subscribe: the built-in transcription has no limit and works in every chat.
- **The free weekly trial** — if you only need to read an occasional short voice message.
