# How to send an audio file as a voice message

To send an MP3 or another audio file as a voice message, send it to the free bot @MakeVideoNoteBot and tap **🎤 Voice message** — the bot replies with a real voice message that you can forward to any chat. Files up to 10 minutes and 20 MB work.

## Step by step

1. **Open the bot** —  Tap **Open in Telegram**, then **Start** in the chat with @MakeVideoNoteBot.
2. **Send the audio file** —  Attach the file (📎 → File). MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, AAC and OGG work.
3. **Tap “Voice message”** —  For an audio file the bot shows one button: **🎤 Voice message**. Tap it.
4. **Forward the voice message** —  Long-press the voice message the bot sent → **Forward** → choose a chat. In the forward options you can hide the sender's name.

## If the voice message doesn't arrive

If you restricted who can send you voice messages in your Telegram privacy settings, the bot can't deliver one and tells you so. Allow voice messages there and try again in an hour.
